George had a cracking time racing the RF82 against the CF3's at the SuperPrix this year... Quali was fantastic as he swapped lap times with a certain Mr Rowley in the March - Ok, Iain got 8th and George 9th in the end but only by 4/10th on the last lap of a very exciting quali.

I thought more 82's would come out for the chance to race the Brands GP circuit and very good value.

The only rumour I heard came from the CF3 boys. That's nothing new, they have been trying to coax us in to prop up their formula for a couple of years now. Why would anyone in his right mind want to volunteer to race against cars with more power and more grip. Apart from one driver, we can all get our asses kicked in URS by equal cars, no need to go and invite someone else to do it who already has an advantage.

What will be different from previous few years - I thought URS have had an invitation class in CF3 for a while? Or is this more 'permanent' idea?

Quite right Andy, that is how we took the opportunity to run both RF82's in several races on the Brands GP circuit this year (CF3, Derek Bell Trophy and Monoposto).
"Class C: Invitation class for Formula Ford 2000 cars built prior to 31st December 1979
Class D: Invitation class for Formula Ford 2000 Cars built between 01.01.80 – 31.12.83 "

I think it would be a great idea to run the URS ff2000 in Cf3 - better calendar/ circuits , an excellent club (HSCC) and the cars are not far apart on most circuits . Jon Finch was 3 rd in his 82 and Scott Temple in our 1977 Crossle 4th at Silverstone finals meeting . As Marcus Pye said a couple of years back in Autosport , if the grids are getting thin in certain series , they must amalgamate to survive . Clubs cannot survive running races for 10 car (average ) grids .

No, the combined weight rule isn't included in the 2015 regs as printed on the BARC site, just the usual 440 kgs minimum for the car.
