As it's getting rather close to 12 months since I posted on here, I thought I'd better write something!
Unsurprisingly the impact of coronavirus put paid to plans to run the car in the HSCC's Geoff Lees Series and alternatives of the odd sprint or hillclimb came to nought, mainly as my company's been working hard to support our clients so free time has been minimal (we service & repair lab equipment for breweries). After Boris announced only off-trade sales could continue in Lockdown 1, furlough wasn't an option since the instrumentation we specialise in became even more critical.
Still, clouds and silver linings being what they are, I was able to get a number of small improvements done - all those things you do early on, then hindsight shows you a better way...
The hiatus also meant I had time for the engine to come out. It's due back shortly, having been stripped, checked and rebuilt with new rings, bearings, etc. so all ready for 2021, I hope!
Talking of next season, when we all hope things will be on a more stable footing, I may even look to sell the car and start another project... I wonder if Paul Tracy might like his old car back?
