Is anyone else going out for this? We put an entry in this week after sitting on the reserve list for a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it, particularly as it will be my only outing this year. Any ideas where to begin with ratios - a rolling start I understand... |

Yup, Taking 2 cars for the Monoposto races. RF82 FF2000 RF99 FF1600 ... see you there. I have only been there once (Mono) and yes it was a rolling start. Gear ratios?... well that last corner (1st for F1's) sets your 1st gear (very like Mallory hairpin 2nd) and you can't pull as fast as Thruxton when you are on the long uphill straight so old Snetterton 4th rather than thinking Thruxton 4th .... others have opinions? http://www.spasummerclassic.com/en/index.html |

Thanks for the info Steven. The car with a set of ratios which were apparently for Spa rolling start but just wanted to check if they were at all correct/ Still got a tonne of stuff to sort including trying to finding some tyres! Not even thought about ferries, trains, van hire etc etc. Do you know what the garage situation is for the event - will we have them? Are we able to book the testing yet? |

Please do not!!!! use a Thruxton top gear. if you have a 10/31 then 24/27 will be more than enough. Its uphill all the way too Le Combe. Have fun. The chicane is very tight so something like a 18/34 for 1st. 18/34. 20/32. 22/28. 24/27. |

We get the garages.. Reply from Simon Davey from a month or so ago "We get garages for the whole meeting. It's usually 5 or 6 cars per garage, but there is still reasonable space. The garages have lights, power, water and loos. It's quite feasible to sleep in them and quite a few people do." We are taking the truck over on a 10.00am ferry departure Thursday. One of our drivers is doing the trackday afternoon with his road car on the Thursday to learn the track. Not sure if there is any single seater testing before the Friday morning Quali 1. Yup Iain, it was your advice not to go with a Thruxton 4th that I followed 14 years ago on my only other Spa visit. |

Good good - Think we have all of those ratios which helps! We were banking on the Thursday being a test day. This is a bit of an issue - |

Well I will admit to being slightly confused... The circuit calendar says the Thursday is booked by roadbook (who run the event anyway) and on the event website they have this... http://www.spasummerclassic.com/en/drivertestday.html |
